Changes to Family Tax Benefit on July2015

From 1 July 2015, changes to Family Tax Benefit include:

- the Large Family Supplement will be paid to families receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A for 4 or more children
- the Family Tax Benefit Part B primary earner’s income limit will be $100,000
- the higher income test free area for Family Tax Benefit Part A will remain. The additional amount for the second child or subsequent children will not apply

Envy

Families with 2 children or more will have no longer receive an added income ceiling.

There is also a proposal to change the structure of payments given to part time and full time workers. In previous policy part time workers are given more lieu however the upcoming changes will encourage workers to seek full time employment.

In my opinion, the policy does not benefit families with growing children.
