Service SA - temporary permit to drive

Help guys!
Nag-theory test na ko para sa conversion ng Ph Driver's lic ko. I passed. Kaso ayaw nila i-release yung temp permit ko kasi sa lic ko nakalagay yung Married name ko however sa passport at visa ko yung Maiden name naman. I showed them my marriage cert but they wont accept kasi overseas daw yun. I still have yung expired lic. What to do? Pwede ko kaya ipakita nalang yung expired lic? O baka mas lumala lang. Pls. help. Di ako mahilig magdrive kasi mas masarap maging pasahero. Hahaha. Kaso minsan kelangan e.

I don't think your expired license is significant. Expired na eh. I suggest call Phil Embassy Adelaide and ask ano maitulong nila. By the way, hindi mo pina-update passport & visa information mo after getting married?

Hi Ronyan, it shouldnt be a problem showing them your expired drivers license from phils. If you go to the their website, it shows there they accept overseas license as long as its not 5 years expired. i know this because i was in a simillar situation, possibly much worse, aside from names not matching- married name on passport, visa, and medicare id. I lost pa my drivers license - thats still on my maiden name, good i found my old license which is already 3years + expired. They accepted the expired one even if my name there was also my maiden. I just showed my NSO marriage cert. I think it depends on the branch - kun mas lenient, also personel na makaharap mo. This branch was in the Adelaide.
Mind you, I tried similar tactic sa Marion branch before- it didnt work. I mean they dont accept overseas marriage cert. You have to have an Apostille Certificate or stamp. Or if you are living in SA for 12 mos or more, you can book for a CBS change of name appointment. Both process cost around $220+@, you can chose either but for the CBS change of name, it will take 3 mos. Not sure how long for the apostille stamp on your overseas marraige cert.

So maybe just try first giving ur expired drivers. Then if it doesnt work.
Take the test again in another branch. Give ur expired this time ( if its not more than 5yrs expired). Then u go from there. $50 to repeat the for learners test is much cheaper than the Apostille Stamp and CBS change of name.

Awesome! Di ko parin inaasikaso hanggang ngayon. My branch is in elizabeth. Will drop by tomorrow there. I have a feeling na kaya di parin ako nagkakawork kasi wala ako drivers license. Thanks a lot @drkip
