Declare de facto dependent affect student visa application?

Hi im currently here in Melbourne living with my PR sister waiting for my offer letter from school. Im about to lodge my student visa onshore. I wanted to declare my boyfriend on my application so he can apply once visa is approved (hopefully). Problem is, my sister keeps telling me not to declare him as it might affect my application. Any thoughts on this? Thank you
