457 to 189 Health Insurance

Hi. My husband and I are currently holding a 457 visa and we applied for permanent residency. I'm just wondering if we still need to maintain our private health insurance while waiting for the grant or the Interim Medicare will be sufficient?

Anyone here with the same experience? Hope you can share what you have done with regards to this matter. Thank you.. :)

    @marzky you are entitled to get blue medicare card na. What I did before was get my medicare, after receiving my medicare card number, I called my health insurance provider to cancel the existing policy for 457 and get extra cover(lower cost) for the blue medicare - since not all covered ng blue medicare so I opted to get extras.

    Same concern here. So pwede lng extras ang kukunin kahit naka interim medicare card lng? Kasi di pa na grant ang PRv visa application namin.
