Would you live in a house near a train station?

Hello, does anyone here live near a train station, as in very near like the train station is right next to your house? What are your likes and dislikes about it?
We are a family (with daughter one-year-old) and have recently found a rental very close to the train station. House is really nice, price reasonable, 30 mins to CBD. We are torn as the level crossings can be very loud!
Thanks for your advice.
