Moving to Brisbane this November 2015

Hello Everyone,

My name is Mike, I just received and accepted the job offer from a company based in brisbane and currently processing my 457 visa. They expect me to be in Brisbane early November 2015. Try kong isama sa proces yung girlfriend ko as secondary applicant.

Tanong ko po sana if may ma-isusuggest kayong decent place somewhere near 111 Eagle Street, 4000 QLD (exact office address po yan ng company). I don't mind if dorm type, apartment etc. basta fully furnished, hindi baha-in, pretty near sa address po na yan and/or easy access sa public transportation. Budget ko po (good for two, utilities inclusive) ay 150-200aud/week.

Taga EY ka ba? (Advisory, Assurance)

Hindi ba sagot ng EY yung 1month relocation expenses mu.

Alam mu, hindi naman bahain ang Brisbane. I don't know where you heard that cliche, or siguro nung bumaha dito 4 years ago na once every 5 or 20 years lang which is 'force majeure'. Usually ang ulan dito last 5-10 minutes lang, on rare occasion probably 1hr matagal na.

For your accomodation, I think it's better to book through airbnb if not kailangan mung mag personal visit sa mga apt for rent and apply, daan sa background checks, etc. Kung within the city, your budget should be 300+ per week for a 1br fully furnished apartment excluding utilities (like hot water, electricity, gas, internet).

Hi @Davidx23! Thank you very much for the prompt response and I really appreciate it. Yes, advisory. Hihi. That's a good info. Nabasa ko lang din sa mga recent news about Brisbane pero at least rare lang pala talaga.

Good for 2 weeks lang ang sagot ng company, kaya hoping ako sana na makahanap na in advance ng matratransferan. Actually I am good kahit outside the city basta easy access lang sa public transportation. Meron kayang within my budget?

Probably sa Towoong (15min train) area or Indooroopilly (30min train). Gaano ba katagal secondment mu kasi kung months lang hindi advisable kumuha ng sariling flat well merong a few exceptions akong nakita sa South Brisbane area (go to realestate.com.au, click rental properties) na fully furnished and inclusive of utilities pero 300-350 ang range, this is a few years ago. Pag rental kasi dito mas gusto ng landlord long term minimum 6mos, preferred 1 year or longer. I think airbnb is your best bet for short stay. Kung 1 year, dun ka na sa realestate.com.au, pero be prepared to shell out extras for utilities kasi almost all don't have rental properties inclusive of utilities. Also you need to be physically present to inspect the property before signing the contract (pa correct na lang, baka uso na rin yung mga virtual tour and physical inspection is no longer required) - check the fine print na lang sa propery description and rules.

@Davidx23 Hi! 2 years ang contract ko and 5 yesrs yung visa. Maybe, initially try ko yung sa Airbnb tapos a few weeks or months hanap na ako ng pang long term. Maraming salamat talaga sa pag reply. kitakits jan!
